Award announcement

The David B. Feinsilver Award will be announced in due course. Applicants who submitted for the award will be informed by email. The Poster Prize Award will be announced on the final day of the congress. Further information is available here.

Legal requirements

The content and structure of presentations are defined by the presenter and should remain within the scope and framework of the submitted abstract. Please note that the presenter is responsible for all presentation content, documents, sources and funding. All legal principles such as copyrights must be observed by the presenter at all times. The host and the organiser disclaim any liability in this regard.

Symposium

Acceptances are granted either as originally submitted complete symposia or as expanded symposia.
To maximize the number of accepted contributions, symposia have been divided into different types.

Type of symposium
  • Complete symposium:
The symposium was accepted in its original form and will last 90 minutes.

  • Expanded symposium:
The original symposium, combined with the additional thematically related individual presentation, constitutes a unified 90-minute symposium. Once the detailed program is published, the submitter will be contacted regarding the additional individual oral presentation, allowing the symposium structure to be jointly arranged.
Presentation slots

The symposium slots will be assigned by the program committee.
Due to possible short-term changes (for example, withdrawals), assigned slots may be subject to change. Presenters are therefore requested to review their assigned slot again prior to the start of the congress. Accordingly, all presenters are expected to be available on all congress days for their presentation.

Symposium structure

The symposium is structured with an introductory statement followed by the individual contributions, each typically consisting of a 15-minute presentation and a 3-minute discussion. If there are fewer than four individual contributions, the duration of each presentation may be extended. The symposium chair is responsible for defining the exact structure and time schedule of the session.

Workshop

Workshops will invite participants to take an active part and convey practical content in an appealing way.To accommodate as many contributions as possible, various types of workshops have been established.

Types of workshops
  • Expanded workshop:
The workshop has been complemented with an individual oral presentation on a related topic. The total duration is 90 minutes. After the detailed program is published, the submitter will be informed about the additional contribution so that the workshop can be jointly structured with the oral presentation.

  • 60-minutes workshop:
The workshop has been accepted as submitted, but the presentation time has been limited to 60 minutes.

  • 45-minutes workshop
The workshop has been accepted as submitted, but the presentation time has been limited to 45 minutes.

During these designated timeslots, you can design the workshop in any way you like, but with a strong focus on interaction with the participants. Presentations are expected to be in English. If this is not possible, please inform the Registration Office in advance. The congress is open to multiple languages.

Individual oral presentation

Several individual oral presentations will be grouped together with other related talks in parallel sessions, with submitted symposia or workshops.

Presentation slots

The presentation slots will be assigned by the program committee.
Due to possible short-term changes (for example, withdrawals), assigned slots may be subject to change. Presenters are therefore requested to review their assigned slot again prior to the start of the congress. Accordingly, all presenters are expected to be available on all congress days for their presentation.

Presentation duration

Each individual contribution is scheduled for 15 minutes of presentation time followed by 3 minutes for questions and discussion. Please ensure that the allocated time limits are observed. If fewer than five individual oral presentations are assigned to a parallel session, the individual presentation time may be extended by a few minutes. The assigned chair is responsible for timekeeping during the session.
If an individual oral presentation is grouped within a submitted symposium, the submitter will be informed after the publication of the detailed program so that the symposium can be structured collaboratively.

Preparation information

In cases where an oral presentation is assigned to a workshop or a submitted symposium, the submitter will be notified following the publication of the detailed program, allowing the session structure to be arranged jointly.

Presentations are expected to be in English. If this is not possible, please inform the Registration Office in advance. The congress is open to multiple languages. For your presentation, a Powerpoint document can be displayed on site. Please bring your presentation on a USB drive in 16:9 format (PPT, PPTX). Use standard fonts to avoid display issues.

Poster presentation

A poster should be complete and self-explanatory, allowing viewers to read and understand it independently. Since viewers may vary in background knowledge and interest, information should be presented clearly, briefly, and accessibly.

Format

Please prepare your poster as DIN A0 (841 wide x 1189 mm tall) in portrait format. Because poster sessions can be crowded, it is best to present your material in columns (vertically), instead of rows (horizontally), so that viewers do not have to cross back and forth in front of each other to read the poster. Posters are easiest to read using high contract colors, for example, black lettering on a white background. Posters are expected to be in English.

Structure

Standard poster structures include introduction, methods, results (with supporting figures), and conclusion or summary. The information should be displayed in brief written and graphic form, e.g. with photographs, drawings, graphics and diagrams.Texts must be readable from a distance of 1-2 meters. You can prepare a banner for the top of the poster indicating the abstract title, authors, and affiliations. The poster title should be consistent with the title used in the abstract submission.

Poster print, installation and removal

The poster presenter is responsible for printing and bringing the poster to the congress, as well as mounting and removing it on site. Poster printing on site is not possible. However, several print shops in Lausanne offer poster printing services.
Please bring your poster on the first day of the congress. You may mount it at the designated poster location on site until 11:00 a.m. at the latest. Your assigned poster space can be identified using the poster list available on site. All necessary mounting materials will be provided. Tape, glue, and other adhesives must not be used on the poster boards.
The poster will be displayed throughout all congress days. Poster takedown is possible on the last day of the congress after the final coffee break. All posters must be removed by 18:00 p.m. at the latest. Posters left behind after this time will be disposed of.

Poster exhibition

Poster presenters are encouraged to be present at their posters during the breaks with time for poster visit to interact with participants and answer questions. A potential poster walk is currently under review. Updates will be published here shortly.

Poster award

Presented posters will be considered for the poster award. The poster jury will evaluate the posters throughout the congress days. Winners will be notified on the last day of the congress from 12:00 p.m. onwards. Poster presenters should be reachable via the contact details provided during registration. The award ceremony will take place in the late afternoon of the final day and winners are expected to be present.
