Art exhibition:
This participatory art therapy project, launched in 2025 by Fondation La Primerose, brings together people living with mental health conditions through weekly creative workshops. The project explores how artistic practice can support recovery. Inspired by outsider art, the approach is based on a collaborative process in which each participant becomes the artist of their own lived experience. Using papier-mâché as the main medium, participants created individual artworks as well as a life-size collective sculpture. This creative process encourages emotional expression, the transformation of personal stories, and meaningful connections between participants. By presenting these creations to the public, the workshop moves beyond the traditional therapeutic framework and highlights artistic expression as a powerful source of recognition, self-esteem, and recovery. The exhibition “The Art of Papier Mâché” invites visitors to discover the creative richness of people living with mental health conditions and to see their life journeys from a new perspective.
